Bata Osha (ବାଟ ଓଷା) – A Devotional Fasting for Protection & Well-being
🌿 A sacred Odia ritual seeking divine blessings for family, children & safe journeys 🙏
Bata Osha is a traditional and spiritually significant observance in Odisha, celebrated by married women and mothers. The word “Bata” means road or path, and “Osha” refers to vrata or fast. On this day, devotees worship the sacred banyan tree (ବଟବୃକ୍ଷ) and Lord Yama (the God of Death) seeking long life, health, prosperity, and safe travels for their family members, especially children.
